Description:

The  Institute for the Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean  Inter-American Development Bank  (INTAL) is a unit of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) created in 1961. The INTAL supports the regional integration strategy of the IADB. Its activities are mainly focused on capacity-building in trade issues; regional integration and cooperation; technical assistance, specially directed to institutional strengthening and dialogue with civil society, including the private sector. INTAL also contributes to the exchange of background knowledge in the areas of regional integration and physical infrastructure. The Institute is currently the Secretariat for IIRSA Technical Coordination Committee. INTAL is part of the IDB Vice-Presidency for Countries and also coordinates activities with the Integration Sector, from the Vice-Presidency for Sectors and Knowledge.
