The purpose of ACEG is to contribute, through research and information sharing, to efforts directed towards resolving pressing problems that are the concern of the people of Africa and their governments.

ACEG?s niche is in pooling African research capacities and directing them to focus on the task of developing solutions to national, sub-regional and continental problems. From the policy reform perspective, ACEG seeks to provide results that are critical in promoting sound development management and also capable of for enriching public policy debate on development policy issues and choices.  From a networking perspective, ACEG aims to increase co-operation among African researchers working in different African countries on issues related to economic growth and social development of Africa.
